On Gandang Gabi Vice, Miss Universe 1993 and the Philippines’ Dancing Queen, Dayanara Torres, expressed how much she loves and missed the country, which she refers to as her second home.

“I’m so, so happy to be back here. You know, I consider the Philippines my second home and it’s been way too long. So happy [and I’m] feeling at home - at home ako dito!” she exclaimed.

Dayanara added, “You know what is amazing? I came here 23 years ago, maybe? The love that I received from that time, the last time I was here was 10 years ago, and still, [when]I arrived this time the love is exactly the same way [as it was before]. You embraced me with open arms.

“And how lucky am I, seriously? Because if you think of it, I could’ve ended up in any other country and it would not have been the same. I am so thankful. I hope you know how thankful I am.”

Dayanara, who still knows her Tagalog, came back to the country primarily as one of the judges of Miss Universe, which was not an easy feat. “This was actually my third time (judging). I don’t get used to it, it doesn’t get easier, [and] every year it’s a very tough decision,” she revealed.

When asked what keeps her fit, she said, “It’s hard not to gain weight when you eat Puerto Rican food but I try to eat healthy and also for the kids. But I love Zumba.”

TV host Vice Ganda showed a movie still from Dayanara’s film with Aga Muhlach, “Basta’t Kasama Kita,” remarking on how handsome the actor is. Yari agreed, “Super ang gwapo.”

When asked if she misses him, she replied, “Yes, I miss working with him. I miss working with him, absolutely.”

When Vice asked her if she would like to see him, in all sincerity, she remarked, “Yes, absolutely - him and everybody that I’ve worked with.”

Dayanara also promised Filipinos will see more of her in the coming months. “I’ll be [going] back and forth from now on,” she said.
