Jerome Alacre on coming out as gay on PBB: ‘It wasn’t planned at all’

<div><img src="" alt="022317-JeromeAlacre_PUSH.jpg" width="400" height="290" align="left" border="0"/>On <a href="http://entertainment.abs-cbn.com/tv/shows/tonightwithboyabunda/main">Tonight with Boy Abunda, </a>Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7’s Overseas Filipino Warrior ng Tondo, Jerome Alacre, recalled his apprehension in revealing that he’s gay on television.</div>“Mayroong part na medyo natatakot ako kasi hindi ko alam kung ano yung magiging response ng tao especially paglabas ko. But deep inside, ang hope ko pa rin is sana maging maganda yung pagtanggap ng tao.”The first person to know of his true sexuality was his mother. “Alam po ng mama ko. Yung mother ko po yung unang taong nakaalam at pinagsabihan ko. Surprisingly, ang sabi po sa akin ng nanay ko, ‘anak hindi mo na kailangan magpaliwanag kasi bata ka pa lang, naramdaman ko na.’ Sobrang masaya po sa feeling talaga.”Jerome further clarified that he didn’t plan a big reveal on the show. “Actually Tito Boy, noong pumasok ako sa PBB, gusto ko lang talaga is mai-share ang life story ko including kung ano po talaga ako. But it wasn’t planned at all.”Among his fellow housemates, Jerome was able to associate himself the most with Yong Muhajil. He mused, “Kasi nakikita ko po yung story ko kay Yong. Parang parehas din kami ng pinagdaanan sa buhay. Yung pagsusumikap namin para maitaguyod yung pamilya namin at para makatulong, nakikita ko rin po kay Yong yun kaya […] madali po kaming nagkasundo.”When asked who for him should win the competition, he revealed, “For me, I’m always vocal, Tito Boy, ang Big Winner ko si Yong. If not Yong, Tanner (Mata) is my Big Winner.”During the segment Fast Talk, Jerome, who is currently single was asked, “Naka ilang boyfriend ka na?” He then replied, “Wala pa po, pero I’ve been dating po.”
