Piolo was previously quoted that he and The Better Half star have been “exclusively dating” for five years now.

Shaina, for her part, confirmed that the Ultimate Heartthrob has been very present in her life for years now. While she confirmed that they are indeed going out, she reiterated that they are free to date anyone.

It was Shaina who explained that they are, in a way, “exclusively dating” because they are not seeing anyone else at the moment.

At this point, Piolo reiterated that what matters, is that he Piolo and Shaina’s “conflicting” statements have led critics to bash them with some even presuming that they’re merely faking it.

The Northern Lights star, in an interview during his launch as the newest face of Mega Sardines, finally addressed the recent controversy that he got embroiled in.

“You speak the same language, you are on the same page, so kasama ang mga ganyan,” he said.

According to him, Shaina was the one who asked him about the news items that came out about them.

'What’s good about our relationship is that we’re really open, we don’t really keep anything from each other,” he said.

He claimed that he advised Shaina to become “true, sincere and honest” with what she was about to say.

“So, even if you’re misquoted, for as long as you know that you’re communication lines are open and you have a healthy relationship, you’re honest to each other, then wala kayong problema,” he said.

In the end, Piolo admitted that he was misquoted in the previous interview. As for the real score between them, he explained, ““What you see is what you get. Ito lang kami, so yun lang yun.”
