EXCLUSIVE: Edward Barber’s mom Cathy says her son has found his calling in acting

She said that show business has helped her son discover his true passion.</div>“Kasi parang sa kanya… kasi nahanap na niya ‘yung calling niya kasi matagal-tagal na rin na hindi niya alam ang gusto niya. Dati kasi sa school hindi niya alam kung anong subjects na gusto niya. Ngayon kasi sabi niya ‘Mom, I found my calling. I really like acting.’ So kami para sa amin parang sinu-support lang namin kung ano ang gusto niya,” Cathy relayed in an interview with <a href="http://Push.com.ph">Push.com.ph</a>. Edward’s family needed to make sacrifices to make his dream happen. Cathy shared that her husband and daughter are living overseas while she relocated to the Philippines to take care of her son. “[Binibigay namin] ‘yung support, ‘yung the fact na i-sacrifce namin ‘yung family namin para lang ma-pursue niya ‘yung anong gusto niya.” Despite her son’s newfound fame and success, Cathy keeps Edward’s feet on the ground at all times. “Kahit ngayon pinagkakaguluhan siya, nagtri-tricyle pa rin kami. Hindi kami nagtata-taxi, nagtatakbo takbo lang kami ganyan.”Cathy still wants Edward to finish school even he is now occupied with showbiz. The young star stopped for one year and Cathy wants her son to continue his education moving forward. “Kahit na home schooling or online schooling. Kailangan i-incorporate nila ‘yung schooling sa sched niya. Basta tapusin lang ‘yung 11th and 12th year then okay na kahit ano ang kukunin niya kasi very strong naman ‘yung foundation niya sa education, gusto lang namin ‘yung qualification lang ng school,” she said.When it comes to Edward’s onscreen partner, Cathy remarked that she is pleased that Maymay Entrata has been paired with her son. “Natutuwa ako at tuwang-tuwa talaga ako kasi si Maymay ‘yung naging ka love team niya kasi parang alam mo ‘yun nagkakasundo na sila at tsaka parang anak ko siya.” More than this, Cathy said she admires Maymay’s simplicity. “Kung ano ung nakikita niyo sa TV ganon talaga siya.”
