Rayver Cruz just laughed off rumors linking him with actress Janine Gutierrez.

“Siguro kasi nakasama ko si Janine sa resto/bar ni Ate Lot [Lotlot de Leon, Janine's mom], tapos may mga pictures na lumabas,” he said in an interview during a shoot for the Star Magic 25th anniversary on Sunday.

“Nakakatawa nga, ang bilis ng pagkalat. “Basta ni-link agad, dun nag-start yun,” he added.

Photos of the two, along with other friends, started making rounds last month and have since sparked the curiosity of netizens.

Rayver only has good things to say about Janine.

“Sobrang bait kasi nung tao, sobrang down to earth, masaya kasama,” he said.

But he was quick to clarify that he’s not wooing her yet.

“Gusto ko naman si Janine—yung personality niya, mabait. Pero yung nandun tayo sa ligawan stage, di pa naman nangyayari,” he explained.

He, however, admits that he has a “crush” on her.

“Oo naman, sino namang hindi magkaka-crush sa kanya? Sobrang ganda, sobrang bait, girlfriend material. Sobrang mahal niya ang pamilya niya, God-fearing, down to earth, sobrang saya kasama, sobrang kalog,” he described her.

What’s more is that “Di mo makikita na Janine Gutierrez siya,”

Rayver likewise spoke up about the “dates” that they were being spotted together. According to him, he and Janine sometimes go out on group dates.

“Once in a while I text her, minsan lumalabas kami ng friends niya. Pag may time na puwedeng malabas, lalabas kami pero sobrang dalang, sobrang busy kasi niya,” he said.

“Hindi pa, hindi pa kami nakakalabas na kami lang,” he added.

At the moment though Rayver is in no rush to take thing to the next level between them.

“Importante sa akin na maging close kami, nagkaroon kami ng pagkakaibigan. Ang importante naman yun muna at ayokong magsalita nang tapos,” he said.

But Rayver is not completely closing his doors to the possibility of them leveling things up.

“Kung saan man kami dalhin, kung anumang diskarte ang gawin ko ngayon, malalaman naman ng mga tao, di naman para itago ko pa,” he ended.
