Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg gets honorary degree from Harvard

Thirteen years after he dropped out from college, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg went back to Harvard University to get his Honorary Degree. “Mom, I always told you I’d come back and get my degree,” he posted on his official Facebook page along with a photo of himself with his newly acquired diploma.

It was in Harvard where Facebook was launched, before it became the tech juggernaut that it is today.

Mark also delivered a speech at the university’s 366th commencement ceremony. In his speech, the Facebook founder stressed the importance of creating a world with a renewed sense of purpose.

'Finding your purpose isn't enough. The challenge for our generation is creating a world where everyone has a sense of purpose. Purpose is that sense that we are part of something bigger than ourselves, that we are needed, that we have something better ahead to work for. Purpose is what creates true happiness,” he said.
