Bret Jackson on James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s relationship: I think Nadine is perfect for James'

On Gandang Gabi Vice, close friends James Reid, Bret Jackson, Sam Concepcion, and Ryan Bang gave us an update on their love lives.

James and Nadine Lustre’s relationship is stronger than ever and Sam’s girlfriend is fellow singer Kiana Valenciano, daughter of Gary Valenciano. Brent revealed that he is currently dating someone while Ryan is single, though he admits to have courted actress Erich Gonzales.

Vice told Ryan, “alam ko niligawan mo si Erich noon at binasted ka right away.” The latter then shared what happened on his date with the actress, “Restaurant lang, kumain kami one time at ‘yun ang first and last.”

Bret admitted to having been basted also. James is in the same boat with Sam, who has never failed in courting a girl. Sam shared, “Masyado akong torpe para mabasted kasi pag alam kong maba-basted ako, hindi ko na gagawin ‘yun.”

Despite their closeness, James kept mum on his feelings towards Nadine with his friends. “Actually, hindi ko pinaalam sa kanila. I didn’t want anyone else’s opinion. Nag-announce ako [ng relationship namin] sa concert namin sa Araneta and I didn’t tell anyone [beforehand]. My dad and my bestfriend only found out 10 minutes before the show.”

Bret added, “It was the craziest thing. I just walked into the dressing room and then he’s like, ‘You know, bro, I’m going to make Nadine my girlfriend tonight.’ What? Right here? Now? And he was like, ‘yeah. I am. I love her.’”

James' friends all love Nadine. As Bret put it, “I think Nadine is perfect for James. It’s the truth. From the bottom of my heart, Nadine is a very great girl. I really would protect her from anyone.” Asked if they would ever tell on James if he cheated on Nadine, Bret admonished, “The problem with that question is, that would never happen.” Although in case that happens, he replied, “I think James is very honest with Nadine and he’d be the first person to tell her. That’s a real answer.”
