After working with Coco Martin on several television shows, Jake Cuenca will be reunited with the actor via the upcoming movie Ang Panday. Jake remarked that he has always had a good working relation with the actor. Was he handpicked by Coco to play the role?

“I think so, I would like to think so. The thing is iba ‘yung chemistry namin ni Gerald (his current co-star in Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin) onscreen that's why a lot of peopl e really like ‘yung tandem namin ni Gerald pero another thing kasi iba rin ‘yung diskarte namin ni Coco to the scenes eh [sa] may Tayong Dalawa or Ikaw Lamang (their TV projects), we have our own special relation when we work with each other,” he said.

Jake will be playing the character of Lizardo in Ang Panday. Asked if how does he feel playing the antagonist in the movie, he replied, “Ako kasi the way I go about it sinasabi ko rin sa ibang artista na aspiring never judge your character in your own way kahit if you are supporting kunwari ikaw ‘yung best friend ng lead, ikaw ‘yung kontrabida, it is still your story. It's up to you how you are going to make it kwento,” he stated.

He added that the feedback that he receives from the viewers whenever he plays a kontrabida role is an important basis if his performance is effective. “Regardless if they really hate me or they love me as long as I get a reaction from them that's important. You know you're doing something wrong kung hindi ka nila pinapansin, that's when you’re not giving a winning performance,” he said.
