Star Magic rising artist, Leila Alcasid opened up about her modern family set up during her recent interview with PUSH Bets Live. The 21-year old singer and songwriter shared how close her relationship is with her four parents. Leila's parents, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid and former Miss Australia Michelle Van Eimeren were married in 1996 but had their marriage annulled in 2007. Ogie is now married to singer Regine Velasquez while Michelle is also happily married to businessman Mark Morrow.

"I have a very close relationship with my mom, we're like best friends. My stepdad, we're really, really close. I've always been very close with my dad and my step mom, especially now that I moved here. I'm really happy because that's one of the biggest changes in my life in the last 2 years," Leila said.

Leila was born here in the Philippines and then moved to her mother's homeland, Australia, where she spent most of her childhood. Two years ago, Leila decided to go back to Manila to pursue her career in music.

For the budding singer, explaining to people her modern family set-up is not a big deal. "I understand naman it's a question that would come up. It is unusual set up, it's a modern family. I guess it's unusual to see two sets of parents that are so close with each other. Usually the mom and the dad won't speak anymore or whatever.

"I'm really understanding when people ask me. I'm always happy to explain, I'm always happy to share how it works for me, and how my family is," Leila added.

As the daughter of two OPM icons, Leila also said that learning she has four parents at a young age taught her a lot about love, forgiveness and kindness.

"It's something that I am grateful for. And I think it's a very important thing to talk about as well. I'm really just grateful because it also taught me a lot of things. Because from a young age, without even trying to, I was put into a position where I had to understand that I have four parents. It taught me a lot of things from my young age, and I guess that's why its kinda easier to respond to whatever situations that you'll be able to practice forgiveness and love. and kindness." she said.

Meanwhile, following the success of her first single "Completely In Love," Leila has released its follow up "I'm Not."

She also shared that she will have a new single and an EP coming out in February of 2019.
