In his latest Metro Manila Film Festival project One Great Love, Eric Quizon admitted that from the start, Kim Chiu was the first actor to be cast since she was the first choice to bring to life the role of main character Xyra. “The script was presented to Regal Films and it’s been a while na mga eight months na and before it was presented to me, pinabasa muna yung script kay Kim to see kung magugustuhan niya. Binasa ni Kim sa eroplano and pagbalik niya sinabi niya gusto niya gawin yung pelikula kasi maganda. Maganda naman talaga so that’s why I’m not surprised na nagustuhan ni Kim. And then JC De Vera and Dennis Trillo agreed on the movie so nag-schedule na kami,” he recalled.

For the film’s multiple kissing scenes between Kim and her leading men, direk Eric revealed the sunset scene on the yacht that can be seen in their trailer was actually not in the original plans. “Yung eksena na yun supposedly ay nasa bedroom. Eh nandudun kasi sa isang malaking yacht, ang ganda ng bathtub so sabi ko dito na lang natin gawin yung isang eksena habang may araw pa and then antayin natin yung takipsilim tapos saka ko siya kinunan. And it came out really well sa pelikula. Yung eksena na yun walang dialogue basta after ng kiss nila JC at saka ni Kim something happened. Kaya I thought mas maganda na yung unang unang bed scene sa pelikula maganda naman yung visual so it came out to be a very wonderful visual kasi biro mo may horizon kami, iba yung kulay ng langit. Sometimes kasi in a movie, minsan na-i-inspire ka sa location eh,” he explained.

The talented director shared that they enjoyed shooting in locations outside Metro Manila. “This movie was 95% shot in Tagaytay kaya if you notice medyo malamig yung look ng pelikula, masarap sa mata. And then there are only two major chunks, yung yacht sa yacht club at saka yung airplane scene sa Bulacan,” he said. When asked if he has ever had a person he could call his one great love, direk Eric explained his thoughts. “I want to consider all my loves great loves kasi at one point or at that particular moment minahal mo yung tao na yun. That was a great love. It could be true, it could be in passing, iba iba. Pero ang sa akin kasi, I’d rather have a real love than a great love. So kanya kanyang tao may kanya kanyang definition,” he added.
