Nathalie Hart reveals why she took a break from showbiz

<div> </div>In her first Star Cinema project this year, Nathalie Hart admitted she had fun playing the role of Xian Lim’s lover Tasha in Sin Island. “Dito sa Sin Island it’s not just about being seductive and showing some skin, meron talaga kaming story dito. Makikita ng mga viewers kung hanggang saan yung level ng pag-acting ko I think. I’ve showed it naman with this film I guess. I really tried my best. I think this is a very challenging role as well being Tasha because she’s a bit crazy and she’s funny. Babaeng bakla and mental as well in some way. I really enjoyed playing this character because half of it is me and half of it is not,” she shared during the Sin Island presscon held last February 12 inside ABS-CBN.Nathalie initially entered showbiz as part of Star Magic Circle in 2008 under her birth name Princess Snell before moving to another network. She also revealed the reason she quit a reality show just two days into the competition. “It’s because I had family problems. I was not ready and my uncle died and my uncle was the one who took care of me when I was a child. I never really had a father to take care of me. So he was murdered and then I was in Survivor and I said I don’t really care about being sikat or making money from this show. So umalis ako wala akong pakialam. And then I kind of stopped doing show business for a while and then I came back,” she said.Maturity also played a big part in her deciding to change her name in the industry. “Dapat serious kasi I’m not just here because of fun you know? I joined a competition before at 16 years old so nung time na yun I really wanted to do it to get out of the comfort zone, para magkaroon ako ng sarili kong pera. Ngayon it’s not just about the money anymore, it’s about my career. Because when you have a career hindi naman laging yung pera yung pinag-uusapan, yung pag-progress ng career mo at siyempre dun na papasok yung pera,” she added.The Sin Island actress said Nathalie Hart is a more fitting name because of her onscreen image. “Because my real name is Princess Tinkerbell so it’s just not really nice when you’re getting old and your name is still Disneyland. ‘Di ba nakakaloka? I really like the name (Nathalie Hart) too and I’ve kind of embraced it now for four years of my life. So it takes time to sort of digest it, that you have a new name pero for me wala akong pakialam (laughs). I was 17 years old when I was using that name and I’m like 25 years old now. So kailangan din nila intindihin na when you hit 22 or 23 napakaibang tao mo na di ba? I think everyone is changing and every year people change naman so siguro kung bata ako dati, ngayon mas mature ako but very open and palaban pa rin yung personality ko I guess,” she explained.
