As one of the stars the relationship drama film Changing Partners, Sandino Martin admitted he learned an important lesson about love from the project. “I play the gay version and straight version of Cris. Bale natutunan ko dito na gender is fluid. I think nowadays millennials are very fluid with their sexual preference and sa relationship we cannot judge someone dahil may nagawa siyang mali. I think nagawa niya yung mali na yun kasi meron siyang ipinaglalaban. Ganun naman tayo sa relationship di ba? We always take ourselves as the victim but the fact is, you are both victims of each other’s doings,” he shared.

The talented 25-year-old actor said he also believes that love is a universal thing. “The fact that I came from a very Mormon family, I came up with that idea that gender is fluid when I was in college. Naniniwala ako na as human beings we are sexual, we tend to love. Our universal language is to love. So we can love everybody else, even animals, a plant. Ganun ang paniniwala ko,” he said.

When asked if he would ever consider being in a same sex relationship, Sandino gave a response open to interpretation. “I appreciate beauty. Ganun ako eh. Pag may nakikita akong maganda, guwapo. Ganun ako,” he added.

Even though he considers himself a very open-minded person, Sandino said he does not believe in going on one-night stands. “Nasa state ako ngayon na I should keep what I have. We are not getting any younger and being risky nowadays is kind of scary so I’d rather be with someone na siya lang,” he explained.
