KZ Tandingan continues to make the Filipinos proud with her impressive performances in China’s Singer 2018. Currently, the Filipina singer is at the number 4 spot of the competition, besting other singers.

As she continues her quest in the contest, KZ hopes to sing one of the most iconic songs in the Filipino music industry, Freddie Aguilar’s Anak, which was translated in Chinese and became a well-loved song in the Asian country.

In an interview with PUSH, KZ expressed her eagerness to sing the Chinese version of the song in the competition. “Kasi aside from it’s one of the most beautiful OPM ever written, sobrang sikat din kasi siya sa China so kung kakantahin ko man siya lalo nilang maiintindihan kasi alam nila ang kanta,” she said.

She added, “And alam mo ‘yun nakaka-proud na may OPM song na sobrang sikat
sa ibang bansa na kung hindi nila
trinanslate, hindi nila maiintindihan di ba? Kumbaga nagkaroon ng connection ang ibang lahi sa kanta ng mga Pinoy.”

Now that she has already formed a following in China, opportunities might soon come her way overseas. KZ stressed though that she still wants to be based in the Philippines despite the chances of booking stints abroad.

“We will work hard to find the center of everything kasi ayokong pabayaan kung ano man ‘yung na-build ko in six years dito sa Pilipinas. Gusto ko dito pa rin ako based, kung may work ako don tsaka ako lilipat don, pero kapag wala, dito lang ako. Mas masaya, mas komportable ako dito,” she stated.
