After getting married to Coleen Garcia’s mom Maripaz Ortega in 2012, JB Magsaysay said he is very happy with his life at the moment. “Coleen’s mother and I have been friends for a while before we got together. When you settle down with the person that you love, everything changes. Your whole outlook in life changes and I’m just glad that I finally found my true love,” he shared with PUSH during Coleen’s Despedida de Soltera held last April 14 in Casa Ibarra in Pasay City.

After joining showbiz via the first season of Pinoy Big Brother, JB said he embarked on a political career in the province of La Union. “Currently I’m a barangay captain in San Juan, La Union but I’m not planning to run this coming May because I’m going to focus on my family. I started my political career in the province. Although I’m not naman ending it already, it’s just that I’m just going to take a short break probably and just focus on my family for now. Actually I tried showbiz for a while but maybe the Lord has other plans for me so I kind of veered away from showbiz and just lived a private life,” he shared.

Despite being out of the limelight, JB said he is still in touch with some of his former housemates. “Oh yes I get to see Nene (Tamayo) once in a while. I also get to message with Uma (Khouny) once in a while and sila Sam (Milby). Everything’s fine. Everyone’s okay naman,” he added.

With Coleen and Billy Crawford’s wedding happening on April 20, JB shared his advice as stepfather of the bride. “The best advice that I could give them is that to put God in the center of their marriage, in the center of their relationship so that everything’s going to work out and everything that will happen will be according to His will. Of course there will be lots of storms and struggles along the way but of course with God in it, there’s going to be love, there’s going to be patience, there’s going to be selflessness, there’s going to be everything that you would hope and dream for in a relationship,” he said.
