Donny Pangilinan admitted to UP, now an Iskolar ng Bayan

There's no stopping teen heartthrob Donny Pangilinan from reaching his dreams, especially now that he is officially an Iskolar ng Bayan. Yep, he got admitted to college after passing the Undergraduate Admission Test (UgAT) at the University of the Philippines Open University.

"Someone just got admitted to UP! Mom @mommymaricel and I are proud of you son, the second among the sibs, and just like mom and dad," his dad Anthony Pangilinan wrote on Twitter.

"Galingan mo pre, isa yang karangalan, iskolar ka ng bayan," Anthony added.

Donny has previously told the press that he has always wanted to enter UP.

"Actually kakatest ko lang po sa UP two weeks ago. Ang hirap. But by God's grace sana makapasa ako and hopefully starting soon makapag sign na rin ng mga modules," he said during the launch of Star Magic Circle 2018.

Donny also admitted that he will draw inspiration from his mom who finished college while pursuing a career as an actress in the 90s.

"Time management really is key, my dad always tells me. So if you really put in the work, kayang-kaya mo 'yan. Kasi ang mommy ko po she finished college during her acting career so 'pag may time during set, she'll be writing and reading her books. So siya ang magiging inspiration ko," he stated.

Donny Pangilinan will be taking up Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies.
