Liz Uy admits she wasn’t yet ready to be a mother when she learned she was pregnant

I wasn’t ready,” she said.</p><p>“At 35 <em>ang kapal ng mukha ko </em>not to be ready, <em>di ba</em>? But I wasn’t. I was being selfish. I was just thinking of my career,” she added.</p><p>Despite the new challenge, she knew she had to toughen up for her firstborn.</p><p>“But if not me, who was going to do it?<em> Lalong ayaw ko siya ipahawak sa</em> strangers… If he was new to me, then all the more I was new to him.”</p><p>The father of Liz’s child is Raymond Racaza, a businessman, who the article clarified to be “estranged from his wife, and who has since been annulled.” He described Liz as a very pro-active mom. </p><p>“She’s a very hands-on mom, especially with the round-the-clock feeding. Despite her other obligations, she would always rush home to be with our son. She is very down-to-earth and has no sense of entitlement. Everything she has accomplished was done through hard work,” he said.</p><p>Liz gave birth to Xavi in the United States last September 2017.</p>
