Most people know about Ogie Alcasid’s modern family set-up, with him remaining good friends with ex-wife Michelle van Eimeren. But his son Nate with wife Regine Velasquez was apparently unaware that his father was once married to his “ninang Michelle”.

The couple had planned to tell Nate about this when he turned 10, but he found out on his own.

“Sabi niya ba naman sa nanay niya, ‘Mommy, Dad was married to Ninang Michelle!’ Sabi niyang ganun! Si Regine, parang, ‘Ha?! How did you know?’ ‘I googled it!’” Ogie shared during a press conference for his 30th anniversary concert, OA.

The singer-songwriter also said that Nate was okay with it and was “happy.”

Michelle and Ogie’s marriage was annulled in 2007, but the two maintained an amicable relationship. Ogie and Regine tied the knot in 2010.
