Recently on Magandang Buhay, spoken word artist Juan Miguel Severo performed his original poem “Labtim, Para Kay Kath at DJ” for the first time. He posted the poem on his Instagram Story a few days ago, saying it was dedicated for couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

Juan Miguel, who is a KathNiel fan himself, said, “Kasi lagi akong hinihilingan ng mga kapwa ko KathNiels na magsulat ng tula tungkol sa kanila.”

Host Melai Cantiveros also gave him the title “Beks Friend ng Bayan” because of his role in The Hows Of Us as the funny nagging friend of Kathryn.

In the same episode, Juan Miguel, who is an openly gay man, shared how he is as a “Beks Friend” in real life. “Hindi ako ganon ka nagging, pero ganun ako ka-bading,” he joked.

Sobrang importante sa akin ako, bilang bading, na magkwento ng (buhay) ng isa pang bading kasi alam namin ‘yun e. Alam namin kung paano minsan, isasantabi mo yung love life mo kasi kailangan mong maging successful para mas maging katanggap-tanggap ka sa lipunan,” he explained.

He was first discovered in 2015 after his video performing his piece called Ang Huling Tula na Isusulat ko Para Sa’yo went viral at that time. Aside from poetry, he also authored a book titled Habang Wala Pa Sila, and released an original song called Walls under PolyEast Records.
