In the press conference for the launch of Dunkin Donut’s DD Bars held last January 10 in Makati City, Piolo Pascual, Derek Ramsay, and Dingdong Dantes shared what qualities they look for and work best with when it comes to leading ladies.

For Piolo, the responsibility to choose a co-actor has always been his leading lady and not the other way around. “It’s not up to us. Kasi siguro mas mahirap pumili yung babae ng lalake. So for i-pi-pitch sa iyo yung concept and then for me it’s always an opportunity to work with somebody that I haven’t worked with before so I always want [the] chance, I always want the opportunity to work with somebody new. So far I’ve been blessed with really professional leading ladies so walang problema,” he said.

Having worked for various networks, Derek said there’s no need to be picky as long as the actress he is working with is professional and nice to deal with. “Basta mabait, walang attitude, yun lang naman eh. Hindi ako namimili ng partner. Basta as long as I know that she’s professional, I’m very excited to work with them. I know I could learn a lot of things from that person,” he said.

Dingdong said the working chemistry is the most important ingredient for him whenever he has a new leading lady. “Basta whoever is collaborative, is very, very welcome. Gaya ng sabi ni Piolo (Pascual) and Derek (Ramsay), masuwerte din ako sa mga naging leading ladies ko kasi siyempre very, very collaborative sila and makikita kasi yun sa chemistry niyo onscreen na hindi lang siya one-way. It’s always a two-way thing and done professionally,” he explained.
