Oops, Ariana Grande gets a Japanese tattoo that says ‘Barbecue Grill’

Ariana Grande shared an Instagram photo of her new palm tattoo which was in Japanese characters. It was supposed to mean “7 rings” but fans were quick to point out that her Japanese tattoo actually translates to “shichirin” or “barbecue grill.”

Seconds after posting it, the pop star deleted the photo but netizens were already able to take a screenshot of the post.

This immediately circulated online and one fan posted it on Twitter. The “7 Rings” singer explained on Twitter that she purposely left out some characters since the pain of getting a palm tattoo had become intolerable. She has since deleted the tweet.

"Indeed, I left out 'つの指' which should have gone in between. It hurt like fuck n still looks tight. I wouldn’t have lasted one more symbol lmao. But this spot also peels a ton and won’t last so if I miss it enough I’ll suffer thru the whole thing next time,” she wrote.

Another fan pointed out that the tattoo written in kanji, a writing system adapted from Chinese, also meant something different in Chinese characters as well.
