Marlo Mortel admits being heartbroken after TNT loss: ‘Am I really worth a win?’

<p>After getting another chance to get back into the running for <a href="https://entertainment.abs-cbn.com/tv/shows/tawagngtanghalan/main"><strong><em><u>Tawag ng Tanghalan</u></em></strong></a> via the Grand Resbak round, Marlo Mortel shared his thoughts after he fell short once again with his scores. The talented actor-singer couldn’t help but post how he felt on his Instagram account last November 12. </p><p>He wrote:</p><p>Not gonna lie, my heart breaks.</p><p>After pouring my heart &amp; soul, results showed I got an average of 88.4 for this song, having me eliminated on the first day of Resbak.</p><p>I’ve always asked myself, “What’s wrong with me?” for I can’t even bag a small win after a decent performance.</p><p>Age 16, I joined Are you the next big star on GMA and I qualified as one of the 115 contenders. After my performance, Judge said “I believe that you could be the next big star” but I didn’t make it to the next round. It was painful, but it’s my first competition. So maybe I just need more experience?</p><p>I was then told to join<em> StarStruck</em> where I reached the Top 30 but got cut. Same with<em> X Factor</em>, where I sacrificed a lot to join, but got eliminated at the Bootcamp round. I just never make it to the Live shows. But I told myself keep growing, maybe I’m just not good enough yet?</p><p>As a celebrity, I was invited to join<em> We Love OPM </em>where our group<em> “Power Chords” </em>coached by @nyoyvolante always lose, we even got a 75 at the Finals after all the hard work. But maybe we just don’t blend well together?</p><p>Recently, I was invited to join the TNT Celebrity Edition. I felt I was ready, even though I was sick, I got great feedback for my performance of <em>“Invisible”</em> but got beaten by Ethel Booba’s rendition of <em>“Help.” </em>Just my luck I guess? I finally gave a good one but got lined up with a Singing Champion.</p><p>Thankful though! Yesterday, I was given the chance to Resbak where I felt like I finally gave strong performances but I got the lowest combined scores. I thought I was numb ‘cause I’m used to losing. But why are people, contestants, celebrities, staff, etc. continuously coming up to me telling me that I deserved to win? I was also trending for people are protesting about this loss. I’m confused, so am I really worth a win?</p><p>I know it’s not about winning, but sometimes a loser just needs a small deserved win to get up &amp; keep going. I guess the big WIN is there are more people who believes in us every time we don’t anymore. <em>Kaya salamat sa mga taong naniniwala at nagmamahal.</em> There’s always a reason to move
