Mikhail Red to direct third season of HBO’s ‘Halfworlds’ starring Sam Concepcion

2019 has been one great year for Mikhail Red as Home Box Office (HBO) tapped him to helm a film about local folklore particularly the Filipino mythical creatures engkantos.

After successfully directing the first-ever Filipino Netflix Original film Dead Kids, the acclaimed director proudly took to Instagram to share that he got picked to direct the third season of HBO's Halfworlds.

“The Engkantos are at war in the Philippines. Who do you fight for,” he wrote, teasing his fans about the storyline of the film.

PublicityAsia, in a press release, stated that Bianca Umali and Sam Concepcion are two of the lead stars of the film.

The third season of Halfworlds will be an eight-part mini-series.

Red is also the filmmaker behind acclaimed films Birdshot and Eerie.

He has another upcoming zombie thriller starring Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto. Titled Block Z, the said film is slated to come out next year.
