Why Daniel Padilla turned down Alden’s role in ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’

<p>Daniel Padilla on Monday revealed that he was offered the role of co-actor Alden Richards in the blockbuster film <em>“Hello, Love, Goodbye”</em>, which also stars his longtime on-screen partner and real-life girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo.</p><p>Speaking with Boy Abunda on “<a href="https://entertainment.abs-cbn.com/tv/shows/tonightwithboyabunda/main"><strong><u><em>Tonight With Boy Abunda</em></u></strong></a>”, Daniel said that the big screen project was originally for him and Kathryn.</p><p><em>“In-offer naman sa akin ‘yun Tito Boy. Sa amin naman talaga original ‘yun, originally dapat ‘yun para sa amin,” </em>he said, before going on to explain why he ended up turning down the offer.</p><p><em>“Napag-usapan namin ‘yun after ‘The Hows Of Us’ na magpapahinga muna kaming dalawa,” </em>he continued.</p><div><em>“Hindi siya mabilis na proseso (na parang) ‘okay, gawin mo na, gawin mo na siya.’ Hindi ganun kadali. Isa siyang mahabang proseso. It&#x27;s something new sa amin and parang out of nowhere si Kathryn nagtatanong kung paano ‘to kung ready na ba siya and mahaba siyang usapan.”</em></div><div><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="626" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/i_eC9F0J_CE" width="1113"></iframe></div><p>In his interview, the actor was also asked whether he ever felt jealous of Alden as Kathryn’s new leading man.</p><p><em>“Masyadong mababaw ang selos, hindi ako nagselos, hindi siya selos, it’s just different. It’s a different feelings,” </em>he explained.</p><div><em>“Kasi ang selos makukuha mo lang ‘yan kung saan-saan eh. Ito ibang usapan siya eh. Doon nagkaroon ng security, doon kami lalo naging tight ni Kathryn, nang dahil doon.”</em></div><p>Daniel admitted that it wasn’t easy for him being away from Kathryn for over a month that they were filming <em>“Hello, Love, Goodbye”</em> in Hong Kong.</p><p><em>“Noong umalis siya andon ako sa puntong, I was in dark times noong nangyari ‘yun,” </em>he confessed<em>. “Hindi ‘yun basta okay lang ako. It was different. Minsan nasa banyo ako for hours lang, andon lang ako.”</em></p><p><em>“Minsan kasi maiisip mo, ano na nga ba nangyayari doon, di ba?. Hindi naman sa inisipan ko ng masama si Alden, hindi &#x27;yun.
