Award-winning singer and actress Lea Salonga is still recuperating from an accident which left her leg injured during a a ski trip in Hokkaido in January.

The 47-year-old star, who was then in Japan to celebrate her wedding anniversary with Robert Charles Chien, announced earlier that she broke her tibia, one of two bones in the lower leg and is the second largest bone in the body.

“I am taking a couple of extra items in my luggage namely a pair of crutches,” she said. “I broke my leg on a slope. Clearly I have not earned the art of stopping. I crushed really hard and I broke my tibia.”

“My new brace. The hinges on either side of my knee will now allow my leg to bend for physical therapy,” she said. “My doctor seems happy with my progress so onward and upward!”
