Seasoned comedian Joey de Leon on Sunday confirmed the death of his mother, Emma Manahan Ramos, at age 93.

Sharing a photo of what appears to be her mahjong set, Joey said that his mother is “together again” with his late father, Jose “Pepe” Seoane de Leon, in heaven.

“Wala nang maka-quorum sa mahjong ang ermats ko kaya nag-last jai-alai na kagabi! Love you, Ma! Together again sila ni Papa Pepe! Play, este, pray for us!,” he said.

On Monday, the 72-year-old star remembered his ‘mama’ by way of sharing a black-and-white photo of them from his childhood.

“Thank you Mama for my first home... your WOMBDOMINIUM! I LOVE YOU!,” he said.

But it wasn’t only Joey who has been mourning his mother’s death in the family. His children Keempee, Jako and Jio, all took to social media to honor the life of their grandma as well.

“Lord, please Bless and Welcome [sic] Mama Emma in your Holy Kingdom,” Keempee, for one, wrote. “Sleep now mama. You’re in a better place now. You’re with our Creator be at peace. Mamimiss kita sobra Mama. Thank you sa lahat lahat sobra! I LOVE YOU! [sic]”

The last time I really got to speak with Mama Emma just a little over a week ago, she wasn’t a hundred percent but she was still joking around with me about her mahjong games and how I’d give her money to bet in her games, she scolded and taught me about handling my finances, and then told some stories about her kids as she often loved to do. She also said to be helpful to others, to not fight with my loved ones, and be thankful, so I’m thankful for you, Mama, for everything you’ve done and everything you’ve passed on. Have fun playing all the mahjong you want now. ❤️

I will always remember your cotton white hair, down to the story of how you never colored it because apparently, once upon a time, Papa Pepe said that it looked good on you. I will always remember the genuine warmth and glee in your voice whenever you exclaim, “good evening!” as you walk through our front door on Sundays after hearing mass. Entertainment website Pep.ph reported that Emma’s wake is currently being held at the Faith Chapel of Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City.
