Maureen Montagne on competing in Miss Eco International in Egypt: ‘I am confident that I will do well’

After being crowned Miss Eco International Philippines last October, Maureen Montagne said she is already excited to head to Egypt to start preparations for the Miss Eco International pageant to be held at the Almasa Capital Theater in Cairo on March 29. Her predecessor Cynthia Thomalla was able to take home the crown last year and Maureen hopes she will be successful as well. “I am confident that I will do well in the competition. I believe in always giving 110% in anything I do and this pageant will be no different. Although I competed in Miss USA (top 15 finish) and Miss World America (1st runner up) before, this will be my first international pageant and I’m so excited to finally show what I have on the international stage,” she said.“I have been focusing my mind, body, and soul for this pageant. I think it’s important to be mentally ready for long competitions so I have been practicing my Q&amp;A with friends and researching Egypt so I can really embrace the culture,” she shared during her send-off presscon held in Quezon City.In order to keep in shape for the upcoming pageant, Maureen said she has been doing workout routines composed of light cardio and yoga. The former Miss Arizona USA and reigning Superbods Female Grand winner also shared details about the red Benj Laguiab gown she will be wearing for the pageant. Benj has also designed gowns for other beauty queens like Karen Gallman, Alyssa Muhlach and Miss Tourism World Intercontinental winner Francesca Taruc. “We designed it for the competition so I can’t wait to wear it on stage. It’s a little more sexy than what I normally wear so I’m excited to try out this new style. I will also be wearing Edwin Uy gowns for all of my events. As for hair and makeup, I usually do my own,” she shared. The 24-year-old Fil-Am stunner also shared that she will be performing Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me” on the ukelele for the talent portion of the pageant.
