Melai Cantiveros addresses split rumors with husband Jason Francisco

Fans of Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco (MelaSon) were alarmed because recently, the Magandang Buhay host rarely shares photos of them together online. Some netizens speculated that they might have separated.

In an exclusive interview with Push Now Na! host Darla Sauler, she clarified that they are not separated but admitted that their relationship is somewhat on the rocks, which according to her is normal for a marriage.

“Ang totoo sa Melason is hindi ko talaga masasabi na okay, hindi ko [rin] masabi na hindi kasi normal sa mag-asawa ang magkaroon ng trouble,” she said.

“Normal naman sa mag-asawa ang magkaroon ng problema kasi walang perfect na marriage, walang perfect na relasyon,” she added.

“Ang masasabi ko talaga is we are in the state of calamity,” Melai joked.

She also stressed that their respective Instagram pages are not the basis of their relationship and they agreed to be as private as possible since their lives started in the public eye.

“Normal naman sa amin na ganun lagi pero hindi basehan ang Instagram namin kung okay kami kasi kahit okay kami hindi lang talaga kami mahilig mag-post kasi si Papang, si Jason talaga ayaw niyang mag-post,” she said.

“Sinasabi niya nga sa amin na gusto niya kasi galing kaming Pinoy Big Brother gusto niya maging private yung aming bonding, magkaroon kami ng privacy kasi parang na-start kami na nasundan kami sa loob.”

“Ngayon gusto namin sa amin muna. Nirerespeto ko yun kasi gano’n gusto ng asawa ko pero hindi naman ‘yun yung magiging dahilan na parang kung hindi lang ako makapag-post nagkakagulo na kami,” Melai explained.

In the end, she thanked their supporters and assured them that they are fixing their relationship.

‘Wag kayong malungkot siyempre mag-asawa na kami walang makakabuwag,” she said.

“Hindi inaayos ‘yun dahil sa endorsement, hindi ba pwedeng inaayos dahil sa mga bata?” she quipped.
