Star Music PH introduced its new StarPop artists at the contract signing ceremony last May 20. One of the new artists is Justin Vasquez, a former contestant on X-Factor Australia 2014.

"I was just mesmerized kasi po never ko pong naisip na I will ever get to this position—very surprising and of course, very happy," he said in an interview with the press.

Justin was born in Philippines and grew up in Melbourne. In 2014, he became known as the Filipino contestant on the X-Factor Australia where he received a standing ovation from the audience after singing “Sunday Morning” of Maroon 5.

Asked about his musical influences, Justin mentioned Kapamilya singer Kyla, whom he also dreams to have a collaboration with.

"Kasi yung mommy ko po, every song that she played was Kyla, Regine Velasquez, Gary V, and that's what I grew up listening to. Tapos yung kanta po ni Kyla na 'Hanggang Ngayon,' I was always listening to that song," he shared.

While waiting for the release of his first single under Star Music, the 20-year old singer is doing song covers and posting it on his YouTube channel which now has over 400 thousand subscribers.
