Recently, the actress – who has since turned her back on the city life by relocating to the province – took to her Instagram Stories to share the side of her home that many don’t get to see: heaps of trash piled in the island’s back roads due to the high influx of tourists.

Last year, the government of Surigao del Norte vowed to take action on the waste management system of Siargao to avoid facing the same fate as the famous Boracay Island.
