Despite persistent speculation about his big TV comeback, John Lloyd Cruz will not be returning on Saturday comedy series 'Home Sweetie Home'.

This was hinted in their May 4 episode when the show featured throwback clips of the actor as his character, Romeo, in a recap of his love story with Toni Gonzaga's Julie.

In the end, it revealed that the couple has decided to part ways for good. In a letter he wrote to Julie, Romeo said that there's no chance that they will be seeing each other again and that perhaps it's best they call it quits this time.

"Nagkamali ako at nasa point na siya na hindi ko matatama," he wrote. "You deserve to be happy kahit hindi na sa piling ko."

However, with Romeo's exit comes a new batch of characters that will bring the fun in the revamped version of the show, 'Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet', beginning next week.

A short teaser revealed that Vhong Navarro and Alex Gonzaga will be joining the cast, along with Rio Locsin, Edgar Mortiz, and 'Pinoy Big Brother: Otso' finalists Fumiya Sankai and Yamyam Gucong.
