Liza Soberano acquires bone infection, to undergo 2nd surgery

Liza Soberano broke her silence on social media on Tuesday and shared an update about the condition of her fractured finger. On her Instagram page, the actress relayed that she is still in the United States to undergo a second surgery. She also revealed that she acquired a bone infection in her finger.

"Hi everyone!!! I know I’ve been M.I.A these past few weeks and I’m sorry for not updating you guys sooner. My managers and I decided to take this time for me to recover fully. I came to LA almost 3 weeks ago thinking I would be here for only 2 weeks. I was supposed to have surgery to remove my plates but, it turns out that we were dealing with more than just protruding hardware. During surgery the doctor discovered that my bone wasn’t healed and that I also had a bone infection (no one is to blame for the infection it just happens sometimes). So now I’m taking anti-biotics through a picc line on my left arm. As soon as my infection is clear I will have my 2nd (and possibly 3rd) surgery," she said.

Liza took the opportunity to extend her gratitude to her family, fans and managers for taking care of her on the road to healing. "I just want to thank my tita Joni, my managers and ABS-CBN for taking good care of me all throughout this process. Lizquens and Liza supporters thank you for all the get well soon messages. I love and miss all of you!! Please keep me in your prayers," stated.

It can be recalled that Liza backed out from the Darna project in April because of her finger injury.

"I couldn't do my stunt trainings because we had to take care of the finger. I really wanted to do Darna, I invested so much time, so much effort physically, I felt like I was ready before the incident but I don't want the project to suffer just because I don't feel like I could give Darna the justice she deserves," she said in her interview upon announcing her withdrawal from the superhero project.
