The story of 2013 Korean movie “Miracle in Cell No. 7” endeared actor Ryu Seung-ryong and child actress Kal So-won to Filipinos with the father-daughter theme of the film.

Today, July 5, fans of the said movie were happy to see a mini-reunion of the lead stars as Ryu Seung-ryong shared a photo on Instagram with an all grown up Kal So-won.

“Father-daughter reunion. So Won is eating lots of beans and growing up healthy on Jeju,” Seung-ryong wrote in the caption.

It was in reference to one of the lines in the movie where he tells his daughter “Ye Seung, you have to eat beans! Beans! Vitamin!”

The blockbuster hit follows the story of a child who was smuggled to prison to see her mentally disabled dad, who got imprisoned for a murder he did not commit.

Other cast members of the film include Park Shin-hye, Oh Dal-su, Jung Jin-young, Park Won-sang, Kim Jung-tae, Jung Man-sik, and Kim Ki-cheon.

Produced by Fineworks and CL Entertainment, the film reportedly earned 80.3 million US dollars in global box office.

Meanwhile, VIVA confirmed in an Instagram post that Aga Muhlach and Nadine Lustre is set to co-star in the Pinoy adaptation of the film which will reportedly compete at the Metro Manila Film Festival.

As of writing, VIVA has yet to release details on the upcoming project.
