American singer-actor Christian Kane, most known for his roles in the television series Angel, Leverage, The Librarians and Into the West, are currently in Cebu to conduct ocular visits for his upcoming US series Off Tropic.

Together with Filipino-American director Dean Devlin and ABS-CBN Head of International Production and Co-Production Ruel Bayani, Christian landed at the Mactan Cebu International Airport on Saturday morning, September 21, where he was greeted by airport officials, ABS-CBN Regional Head Veneranda Cinco-Sy, and ABS-CBN Cebu Station Manager Leilani Alba.

Aside from looking for possible filming locations in Cebu, Christian and Dean are in the country for castings of Filipino actors for Off Tropic, a 10-part series which ABS-CBN is line producer.

During their contract signing with the network’s executives held Friday, Dean, who is behind the hit movies Godzilla, The Patriot, Independence Day, and Geostorm, said that it has been his “lifelong dream” to shoot a project here in the Philippines.

“It’s a lifelong dream to get do something here, I wish my mom was alive to see it... I haven’t spent much time here and now we get to do a show here,” the filmmaker, whose family hails from the IloIlo, said.

“We’re trying to show the Philippines to people from the United States and around the world in a way that they've never seen before,” he added.

Christian is similarly excited about his return in the Philippines.

“It’s great to be back, I love this country, there’s so many great people, so many colors here, it’s going to be fun... I don’t think the US has seen anything like this on TV before and we're so excited to bring it home,” he said.

The two are expected to start filming for Off-Tropic in Cebu by November
