When he first started dating Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla admitted they did not share the same taste in music. The 25-year-old actor and singer said his love team partner preferred more contemporary sounds to his classic music. “Kami ni Kathryn before ang music lang na pareho kami, kasi I’m into rock and roll eh. Si Kathryn more into mga ballad, alam mo yung mga pambabaeng music, yun yung mga trip niya,” he shared during the Apollo: A Daniel Padilla Digital Experience presscon.

During the virtual mediacon, DJ said he is often times moved while listening to music and there is a specific song that can also make him cry. “It’s ‘Smile’ by Nat King Cole. It’s a very sentimental song for me kasi yun ang kanta ng lola ko sa akin nung bata ako so every time bago matulog or kung ano man ang ginagawa niya, yun ang kinakanta niya sa akin. Dahil lola’s boy ako eh so that song is very important sa akin,” he explained.

DJ shared that he and Kath eventually ended up with a sharing mutual taste in music after he introduced her to some of his favorite artists. “Nagkapareho kami sa mga gusto namin kasi si Michael Buble. Yun ang trip namin before. So nung nakuha ko na mahilig siya kay Buble, sa standard, eh ako bata pa lang fan na ako ni Frank Sinatra eh so nung pinakilala ko sa kanya yung mga songs nila Sinatra, nila Nat King Cole, dun na kami nagkagusto sa music. Pareho na kami ngayon. Kaya si Kathryn yung music niya music ko na rin. Pareho na kami ng mga pinapatugtog ngayon,” he said.

After admitting that he plans to get married to Kath in the next three to four years, DJ revealed his dream wedding and their official theme song as a couple. “My dream wedding would be a beach wedding. Yan ang gusto ko. And sana before 30 ay mangyari na yun. Before I turn 30 years old sana maikasal din ako. Ayoko na rin masyadong matagal. Ang theme song namin is by The Beatles, yung ‘Here, There, and Everywhere’ ni Paul McCartney. Yan ang music naming dalawa,” he shared.

For his October 11 concert, DJ said that Kath will be present as an audience member and not a guest performer. “I cannot promise anything pero alam niyo si Kathryn kapag time ko na kumanta dun, ang gusto niya faney din siya na nanunuod sa akin. Sa mismong concert day andito siya para manuod sa akin ng live. Exemption siya (laughs). Kailangan ko din na nandun siya dahil ako ay ninenerbiyos. Eh kapag nandiyan siya at sumusuporta eh mas kumportable at feeling ko kayang kaya ko,” he said.
