South Korean singer IU released on Wednesday, May 6, her much-anticipated collaboration with Suga of the boy band BTS.

Titled "Eight", the song debuted digitally with an accompanying music video.

Co-written by the 26-year-old artist and the 27-year-old rapper, the pop-rock track is the first single off IU's upcoming comeback schedule, following the release of her EP "Love Poem" in 2019, and new song "I Give You My Heart" for Netflix's hit Korean drama "Crash Landing on You" earlier this year.

IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, debuted as a singer at the age of fifteen with her album "Lost and Found." She achieved international stardom through her 2010 single "Good Day," which peaked at No. 1 on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard magazine's 100 Greatest K-pop Songs of the 2010s.

Meanwhile, Suga, born Min Yoongi, rose to popularity as part of the phenomenal seven-member act BTS. In 2016, he released his first solo mixtape "Agust D." According to Korea Music Copyright Association, he has 70 songs to his name as a songwriter and producer, including Suran's "'Wine", which peaked at number two on the Gaon Music Chart and won best Soul/R&B track of the year at the 2017 Melon Music Awards.
