Kuya Kim Atienza denounces viral news that he was involved in a shooting

<p>The same day he posted about running 11 kilometers in honor of his home network’s 11,000 employees, Kim Atienza was surprised by the amount of messages he received from friends and family who wanted to know about his condition. The 53-year-old host and athlete posted a screenshot of fake news that had been circulating about him being in critical condition after becoming the victim of a shooting. He included screenshots of several websites and a video on YouTube claiming he was fighting for his life.</p><p>The fake news article also stated that he was shot by unidentified suspects who entered his home in Manila and that the incident was allegedly all captured on the CCTV cameras. A few days after the articles came out, Kim decided to put the issue to rest by posting it on his account and reassuring his loved ones that there is no truth to the news. The news weatherman also assured netizens that he is still continuing to go to work on TV Patrol even with the recent decision regarding ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal. </p><p>On his Instagram account, he wrote, “Thank you for all who called to check on me. I tried to pass this off and be quiet but my friends and family are worried. I have to address this fake news item now.
