South Korean group Verivery took on a game called “Call Me By Your Language” which required them to speak in Tagalog.

In the said game, each member of the group had to read a pickup line sent in by a fan and answer back with a message which will be later on translated into Tagalog for them to read.

One fan told Dongheon: “May kilala ka bang gumagawa ng relo? May sira yata relo ko. ‘Pag ikaw kasi kasama ko, humihinto ang oras ko.” He then responded: “Kahit huminto ang oras, patuloy tayong liliwanag.”

A fan named Jamie told Hoyoung: “Sumbong kita sa pulis. Ninakaw mo kasi puso ko.” To which Hoyoung responded: “Kung ito’y kasalanan, handa akong magpakulong.”

Minchan, for his part, received a message from a fan named Justine which said: “Minchan, nakalimutan ko ang iyong pangalan dahil nais kong tawagin kong mine.” He replied: “Hindi mine ang pangalan ko. Pero simula ngayon, pwede mo akong tawaging mahal.”

Gyehyeon, on the other hand, opted to do a “skit” as he responded to a fan who throwed a “banat” at him.

“Pwede bang makahiram ng cellphone mo? Nais [ko] na tawagan ang iyong ina. Nais kong sabihin na salamat sa iyong pagsilang sa isang prinsipe.”

He replied: “Aking prinsesa, kukunin kita.”

A fan named Lorry, who wished to have Yeonho as her gift from Santa for Christmas, said: “Pwede bang makahingi ng litrato mo? Papakita ko lang kay Santa Claus kung ano gusto ko matanggap sa Pasko.”

Yeonho then responded by posing in front of the camera and said: “Kunin mo ngayon ang aking litrato.”

Meanwhile, Yeongseung got a message from a fan named Danica who asked if he can follow him — the man of his dreams.

“Yeongseung, pwede ba kitang sundan? Kasi sabi ng nanay ko ‘follow your dreams’,” Danica wrote. To which Yeongseung replied: “Wag kang mag-alala, sundan mo ako sabay tayong maglalakad patungo sa ating pangarap.”

The last one to read a message from a fan — Kangmin — received something that may sound too familiar for many Filipinos. The fan wrote: “Kangmin, si Google ka ba? Kasi lahat ng hinahanap ko nasa iyo na.”

Kangmin then gave a sweet reply saying: “Hindi ako Google kundi tao lang ako na mahal mo.”

Verivery isn’t the first K-Pop group to take on the same challenge. Back in February, Pentagon gamely took on the challenge.

Composed of Dongheon, Hoyoung, Minchan, Gyehyeon, Yeonho, Yongseung, Kangmin, the six-piece group debuted in 2018 under Jellyfish Entertainment — the talent management agency behind K-Pop group VIXX.

In 2019, the sextet released the EP called Veri Us with the song “Ring Ring Ring” serving as the lead single.

Last March, the group joined the Mnet-produced reality television show Road To Kingdom where they placed fifth in the competition.

Meanwhile, ROLLING identifies as a multinational K-Pop content channel.
