Sheryl Cruz denies owing money to her former campaign manager: ‘Truth and fairness shall protect me’

<p>Sheryl Cruz recently made headlines when her former friend, an OFW named “Alex”, sought help from Raffy Tulfo and his online show Raffy Tulfo in Action earlier this month regarding a supposed debt she incurred during the last election. When she ran for councilor in Manila, her friend supposedly put up money to hold certain events in her name during the campaign period. She challenged her former friend, an OFW and frontliner who is currently abroad, to provide proof of the debt. Sheryl also stated that the money used was not from personal funds but from their official campaign funds. She wrote, “I have not borrowed any amount from ‘Alex.’ Should she be able to prove clearly and unequivocally that she did incur deficit during my campaign, I would gladly pay the same. I pay my dues. The money she may have caused to be paid for the dance projects and the salaries of the staff are from the campaign funds and not from her own pocket. Sheryl added, “It saddens me that a radio program becomes a pseudo court that acts like a lawyer, a judge, and jury all at the same time without even knowing the other side. An anonymous number called me when the program was already being aired and was expecting me to explain. I was taken by surprise. I chose to remain silent because I don’t want to go on that level.
