Celebrities call out Senator Cynthia Villar over ‘insensitive’ comments on health workers

<p>Following Senator Cynthia Villar’s statement telling health workers to work harder during the pandemic, several celebrities took to social media to call out the business magnate-turned-politician for what many referred to as “insensitive” and “out-of-touch” comments. </p><p>Villar — whose remarks came following an appeal from health workers to place Metro Manila and under adjacent areas back to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) — dismissed the appeal of the health workers during an interview on DWIZ radio.</p><p>“<em>Hindi na siguro. Pagbutihin nila (medical frontline workers) trabaho nila</em>,” she said. </p><p>But several netizens — including celebrities — felt the need to call her out on social media as many deem her statements inappropriate considering the many sacrifices health workers have made over the last five months. </p><p>Enchong Dee, for one, wrote: “Insensitive.
