After it was announced earlier this year that he would be replacing Ben Affleck in the latest installment of Batman movies, more of British actor Robert Pattinson’s take on the popular DC superhero was revealed at the recent DC Fandome event held last weekend. Warner Bros. Pictures gave a sneak peek of The Batman with an almost two-and-a-half minute trailer. The film’s production in the United Kingdom was shut down back in March due to the pandemic and it is scheduled to resume shooting again next month, with its release date now set to open October 1, 2021.<div><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NLOp_6uPccQ" width="1349"></iframe></div>In The Batman, the former Twilight star brings to life the role of Gotham City’s famed hero, joining the ranks of former Batman stars Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck. Joining Patterson are The Batman cast members Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.Before auditioning for the role of the iconic DC character, Robert was in the middle of shooting his latest film Tenet with former Batman director Christopher Nolan. He reportedly beat out actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Armie Hammer, and Nicholas Hoult who were also being considered for the part.After starting his film career playing the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005, Robert went on to star in the Twilight saga films Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn from 2008 to 2012. With his role as a vampire named Edward Cullen, Robert’s popularity grew worldwide and established him as one of the highest-paid actors in the world. He went on to star in films like Remember Me, Water for Elephants, and in the psychological horror film The Lighthouse last year. The 34-year-old actor, whose full name is Robert Douglas Thomas Pattinson, is also an songwriter and singer who learned to play the guitar and piano at an early age. His spy film Tenet, where he plays a debonair British agent, is scheduled to be released later this September.
