Matt Evans has posted bail after he was arrested last July 31 in connection with the "child support" case filed by his former partner Johnelline Hickins.

Matt has a daughter with Johnelline. According to the actor, though the last time he saw his daughter with his former partner was when the child was still 10 months old, he clarified that he has been sending support.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Matt explained, "Oo nagsu-suporta ako. Pero dahil nga sa nangyaring pandemyang ito, may lapses ako ng suporta."

He added, "May mga lapses [din] tayo dati kasi nga hindi naman tuloy-tuloy trabaho natin tapos 'yong pinagkakakitaan ko naman outside showbiz hindi rin naman kalaki."

Matt has yet to figure out his next legal step. He said that he wants to clarify with the other camp first why it has to lead to this.

"Ang gusto kong i-clarify bakit kailangan umabot pa sa ganito. Puwede naman pag-usapan. Nananahimik na ako. May asawa ako, 7 years na akong happily married with three kids," he stated.
