Maraming empleyado ng ABS-CBN Corporation ang tuluyan nang nawalan ng trabaho nitong katapusan ng buwan ng Agosto dahil sa pagsasara ng giant network. Natigil ang operasyon ng ABS-CBN kasama ang mga FM at AM radio stations nito sa buong Pilipinas at iba pang subsidiaries ng kompanya nang hindi pinayagan ng Kongreso na ma-renew ang prangkisa nito.Isa ang award-winning director and writer na si Direk Joey Reyes na labis na nalulungkot sa sinapit ng ABS-CBN employees na nag-end na ang journey sa network nitong August 28.Matagal na naging bahagi ng ABS-CBN at Star Cinema si Direk Joey.
