Kapamilya star Arci Muñoz kept herself busy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, she has learned two of Japan’s writing systems as well as the official Korean writing system, Hangul.

During one of ABS-CBN Entertainment’s recent Kapamilya Chat episodes, the 32-year-old celebrity talked about her life during the pandemic.

Arci — who revealed that she’s the only one who hasn’t married yet among her siblings — said that despite the circumstances, she was able to keep alive their family tradition of celebrating Christmas.

“It’s always been my tradition also na every holiday I spend it with my family. So medyo nahuhuli na ako. Lahat ng kapatid ko may pamilya na, ako na lang [ang wala] so I still want to keep the festivities alive at home,” she said.

She added: “I still want us to celebrate it all together. So that’s what we did — a simple gathering at home. ‘Yun, for me, is more than enough as long as kasama ko ‘yung pamilya ko.”

Meanwhile, Arci also talked about some of the things she learned in the past year.

According to the Walang Hanggang Paalam actress, 2020 made her “stronger.”

“For me, my best learning nu’ng 2020 is really to enjoy your life. I learned to appreciate the smallest things. And during trying times talaga, dun tayo nasusubukan kung gaano tayo katibay bilang isang tao,” she said.

“I believe 2020 made me really stronger. I look at things differently now. Though I was always naman live life to the fullest. I’m always like that. But what I’ve realized last year ay you really have to set your priorities, that tomorrow is not really certain.,” she added.

Having gone through a tough time in her life just like everyone else, Arci said she learned the importance of grabbing opportunities and setting goals in life.

“So if you can do it now — whatever you love the most — do it now, do it responsibly. Ako naman kasi I always grab opportunities and I really set goals. So nu’ng 2020 sabi ko ‘Oh my gosh. I really have to achieve that goal as soon as possible,” she said.

With almost everyone forced to stay indoors, Arci said she acquired a few skills — including setting up equipment and shooting on her own.

She said: “Life is really short, if you’re going to realize talaga and that’s what 2020 taught me. Tsaka mag-Zoom meetings, maging medyo techy. Hindi lang ‘yun [zoom meetings] eh. Natuto pa ako mag-shoot, mag-setup ng ilaw kasi kami ang nag-shu-shoot sa mga sarili namin sa bahay, ‘di ba?”

But one of the things she takes pride in is the fact that she learned two writing systems of Japan as well as the Korean writing system Hangul.

“Natuto din ako magsulat ng Hiragana, Katakana tsaka magsulat ng Hangul,” she said.

A huge fan of Japanese manga series Sailor Moon and the South Korean boy group BTS, Arci is definitely one happy fan girl.
