As one of the stars of the new online series ‘BetCin’, Andrea Torres said she was happy to be working again with Kylie Padilla whom she got to know even better during their lock-in taping which lasted for more than a week.

“My first soap was with Kylie. We also saw each other a lot after because we were both regulars on Sunday All Stars and other guestings. I always found her pleasant but at the same time mysterious. After BetCin, I still find her pleasant and mysterious haha! But this is where I was able to see her heart. I have a deeper respect and appreciation for her. She’s a lovely human being. The chemistry came naturally and it’s something [I] just can’t explain. It was instant and it was strong - I guess it helped that we both just fell so in love with this project. We believe in it so much. The energy that was going around was so inspiring,” she told PUSH in a n exclusive interview.

“I’ve been waiting for a project like this, so I was ecstatic! I wasted no time and informed them immediately that I was accepting the role of Cindy. My goal is to be part of unique stories and take on roles that are extremes. Direk Shugo (Praico) gave a fresh take with BetCin.

“I like that the series comes from a place where Beth and Cindy are accepted. How the show normalizes the relationship of Beth and Cindy and focused instead on their struggles with having a public relationship through social media because that is very timely.

“I feel so blessed that they thought about me for this project. I was nervous before we started filming. Just because I didn’t want to mess up. I want everything that we do here to be authentic. But the moment I went on lock in, all those went away. It was a dream team. I come on set everyday with a huge smile on my face and there were just so many ideas floating. It was a collaboration and that added to our level of confidence and comfort. It became a playground for us,” she said.

“A lot of my friends and family are part of the LGBTQIA+. I’ve always looked at them the same way I look at anybody. I think that’s how it should be. Through this series we were able to learn more about their journey. Their experiences, their beliefs, and the things they are fighting for. They are definitely strong, smart and beautiful individuals. We wish that this series opens up more discussion. We should hear more of these stories. It’s admirable,” she said.
