As she will return to TV Patrol, Karen's The World Tonight on ANC will now be anchored by senior news reporter Pia Gutierrez.

It was on October 7 when Noli announced that he will be leaving the Kapamilya network as he will be running in the upcoming 2022 elections.

"Matapos ang malalim na pagsusuri at taimtim na pagdarasal…ako po ay nagdesisyon na tumakbong senator, at dahil sa hakbang na ito, kailangan kong iwan ang TV Patrol at ang ABS-CBN," he said in TV Patrol.

Following Noli's announcement, ABS-CBN released a statement thanking the veteran anchor for his years of service in ABS-CBN.

“Our Kapamilya, Noli ‘Kabayan’ De Castro has informed ABS-CBN of his plan to run for public office in the coming 2022 national elections. We respect his personal decision and wish him well as he aims to continue his service to the nation as a government official," the statement said.

“We thank Kabayan for his decades of service in ABS-CBN News, where he led iconic shows and spearheaded public service efforts while also serving as a mentor to generations of broadcast journalists in the organization," the statement added.
