Pumanaw na ang asawa ni Katrina Velarde na si Mike Shapiro nitong Sabado, ika-14 ng Nobyembre.Kinumpirma ni Katrina ang pagpanaw ng music producer sa pamamagitan ng isang pahayag na inilabas ng kanyang management. “It is with deep regret that I wish to announce the passing of my husband, musician and educator Mike Shapiro, last November 14 in Quezon City, at the age of 57,” saad ni Katrina.Sa kanyang pahayag, ipinagmalaki din ni Katrina ang mga nakamit ng kanyang asawa bilang isang drummer at sikat na music producer. “Mike was a drummer, percussionist, and music producer who recorded and toured extensively with Sergio Mendes and other music stars like Natalie Cole, Al Jarreau, Flora Purim, will.i.am and others,” ani Katrina.Maliban dito, kinilala din ni Katrina ang pagiging isang guro ni Mike sa larangan ng musika.&quot;He was also a close associate of Herb Alpert with whom he worked for many years until the time of his death.
