John Lapus on working with DonBelle: ‘May kakaibang kilig, may magic’

As one of the more senior stars in the Star Cinema film Love is Color Blind, John Lapus said he can bear witness to the development of the reel-to-real relationships of many love teams throughout the years. In his latest film, John got the chance to get to know rising stars Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan during their lock-in bubble for the Star Cinema project this year.“Isa akong transtita dito. I’m connected sa character ni Belle (Mariano) at ang pangalan niya ay Caramel. Tita niya ako na kapatid ng kanyang father. So basically my character is on Belle’s side. Iba yung rapport, iba yung magic and I’m sure nakikita yun ng fans dahil may pa-billboard sila all over the world. May kakaibang kilig, may magic yung chemistry. Kasi hindi mo puwedeng dayain lalo na pag off-cam eh. Hindi mo madadaya yung sweetness. Observant ako sa ganyan. May eksena kami ni Belle tapos andun si Donny. Manunuod lang pala siya kaya andun siya. So yung mga ganung bagay, hindi mo yun madadaya eh. Kaya pumusta ako ng bonggang bongga sa love team na ‘to. This is it, yung number one ng 2021. Pandemic love team ito, yung ganung level at tatagal pa. I’m pretty sure they’ll have more movies together. As they grow pa-mature din ng pa-mature yung mga roles nila.
