‘Get over here!’: Video game ‘Mortal Kombat’ returns to the big screen

<p>A classic video game favorite is coming to the big screen. Directed by Australian filmmaker Simon McQuoid who is making his feature directorial debut, Mortal Kombat is the live action adaptation of the popular game. </p><p>The story revolves around MMA fighter Cole Young who becomes the target of Outworld&#x27;s Emperor Shang Tsung. The emperor has sent his best warrior Sub-Zero to dispose of him for reasons yet unknown to Cole. </p><p>Cole is directed by Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same dragon marking he has, to look for a woman named Sonia Blade. His search leads him to the temple of Lord Raiden, the protector of Earthrealm who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark.
