As one of the more outspoken celebrities in local showbiz who is not afraid to voice out their opinion when it comes to issues regarding the government, Pokwang (real name Marietta Subong) replied to bashers on her Twitter account last March 23. The 50-year-old actress and TV personality called out those who started attacking her physical attributes because they don’t agree with her views.

Although she did not resort to public shaming her bashers individually, Pokwang defended her right to post her opinion about how the local government is handling the ongoing pandemic.

She wrote in another tweet, “Hanggang sumusunod ka sa batas at wala kang ginagawang ilegal sa batas ng tao, gobyerno at sa Dios wala ka dapat ikatakot woohooo.”

On her Twitter account, Pokwang continued to fight for her right to express her thoughts online and reminded netizens that everyone even celebrities are affected by the lockdown. Last appearing on the Kapamilya network in the primetime series Make It With You starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, the show was cancelled almost three months after the enhanced community quarantine was imposed across the country.

Aside from working on her showbiz commitments, Pokwang and her partner Lee O’Brian have continued to work on their home-based food business Poklee Food Products which includes different items like sili garlic aligue, garlic aligue, espesyal suka, gourmet tuyo, tinapa, strawberry jam, kimchi, and roast chicken as part of their product line. Even before the national lockdown, the couple had already started selling their food products online and through bazaars.
