Janella Salvador admitted that she has been struggling with her self-confidence after she gave birth.

“I wouldn’t say I got fully depressed, but there are many times until now that I have to remind myself that, ‘Hey, you gave birth to a human, that’s pretty amazing, that’s pretty hard.’ Because, after giving birth, I really lost confidence in myself, a lot of confidence,” she said in an interview with Metro.Style.

Amid the challenges of regaining her confidence, Janella shared that she is trying her best to apply self-care.

“Nawala lahat ng vanities sa katawan ko. Like when I look in the mirror, I don’t really see myself anymore… It did take a toll on my confidence, but now I’m slowly trying to take care of myself more, get some self-care in, and try to get my old self back,” she shared.

The actress relayed that during her free time, she does pamper herself and she also does work out.

“Now I’m trying to squeeze in going to the derma. So that’s my self-care na, and working out sometimes. Sometimes. I’m not a regular workout-er.”

Janella gave birth to her son with Markus Paterson named Jude in October of last year.

Meanwhile, on her Instagram page on Mother's Day on Sunday, Janella shared how she would describe her motherhood journey.

"There are no words to perfectly describe what being a mum is like so far— but one thing I have learned is that although I may have somehow lost myself, I gained my purpose," she wrote.
